1. About Brikje
- Q: What is Brikje? A: Brikje is a peer-to-peer marketplace for buying and selling LEGO® sets. It connects parents and LEGO fans who want to trade sets in a safe, easy, and affordable way. Whether you’re looking for a specific set, selling one your kids have outgrown, or giving your bricks a second life — Brikje makes it simple.
- Q: Who can use Brikje? A: Brikje is open to everyone who loves LEGO, from parents and families to adult collectors. You can browse, buy, and sell right from your computer or phone — no special account type needed.
- Q: Why use Brikje instead of other marketplaces? A: Unlike general resale platforms, Brikje is made specifically for LEGO sets. Listings are easy to create using LEGO set numbers, transactions are protected by escrow, and shipments are tracked end-to-end. You get a smoother, safer, and more transparent LEGO trading experience.
- Q: Is Brikje available outside the Netherlands? A: We currently focus on the Dutch market, but we’re planning to expand to more EU countries soon.
2. Buying on Brikje
- Q: How do I buy a LEGO set? A: Browse our collection, click on any set to view details (condition, completeness, shipping options), then add it to your cart and follow the checkout steps. Payments are held securely in escrow — your money is only released to the seller once you’ve received your set.
- Q: What payment methods can I use? A: We accept major credit and debit cards, as well as popular local options in the Netherlands (like iDEAL and PayPal). All payments are processed safely through Stripe’s escrow-enabled checkout.
- Q: How much does shipping cost and how long does it take? A: Shipping costs depend on the size and weight of the set, plus your delivery location. Prices are shown at checkout, based on PostNL and DHL’s standard rates and delivery times.
- Q: What if the set is incomplete or parts are missing? A: Sellers are asked to clearly state the condition and completeness of their sets. If what you receive doesn’t match the description, report it within 3 days (with photos), and we’ll help resolve it.
3. Selling on Brikje
- Q: How do I sell my LEGO set? A: Simply create a seller account, upload clear photos, describe the set’s condition and completeness, set a price, and publish your listing. Once your set sells, you’ll have 3 days to ship it. Payment is released once buyer confirms receipt (or automatically within 3 days after if no issues are reported).
- Q: Can I list a used or incomplete set? A: Absolutely! Just be upfront about missing pieces, manuals, or boxes, and upload clear photos so buyers know exactly what to expect.
- Q: When will I get paid? A: Payments are released after the buyer confirms they’ve received the set, or automatically 3 days after delivery if no disputes are raised.
4. Accounts, Returns & Safety
- Q: How do I create or reset my account? A: Click Sign Up to create a new account. To reset your password, use the Forgot Password link on the login page and follow the instructions sent by email.
- Q: What’s your return/exchange policy? A: As a P2P marketplace, we value fairness. If an item arrives significantly different from the listing (missing parts, undisclosed damage), report it within 3 days. We’ll work with both parties to arrange a return, exchange, or refund.
- Q: How is my payment and data protected? A: All transactions run through secure, encrypted processors. Your personal details are protected and never shared unnecessarily.
5. For Parents & Kids
- Q: Are all sets clean and safe to play with? A: Sellers are encouraged to clean their sets before shipping. Photos show the condition, so you can make the best choice. As a tip, wash hands after handling used bricks to stay extra safe.
- Q: Can kids use Brikje, or are there age restrictions? A: Kids are very welcome to browse, but purchases should be made or supervised by parents/guardians to keep the experience safe and fun.
